Omulloh Augo emerged victorious in yesterday's CUSA elections. Augo garnered 532 votes against Kirimi's 512 in the hotly contested elections. The tallying and counting exercise which was carried in the pavilion attracted a large number of students. From the beginning of tallying the race looked tough and the winner was unpredictable but towards the end it was clear Augo had taken the lead with 20 votes. The crowd which had been following the tallying exercise keenly broke in jubilation even before the official counting begun.

He also reiterated that he was going represent students in the students council and not going to oppose the University administration. During the campaigns supporters of his opponent had tried to paint him as a radical which he has always vehemently denied. Augo also stated that he was going to make sure the students are respected. In his campaign pledges he had promised to advocate for students rights.
